Tantallon

Tantallon is a classic, teak-finished cruising sailboat — a proper yacht rather than a day-sailing dinghy, with a genoa on a furler alongside her mainsail and a forward cabin you can actually stand up in. She carries up to 7 guests and departs from the Gateway of India in Colaba, and she is the boat we point people toward when the brief is somewhere between an afternoon sail and a proper evening out on the water.

Below deck, a varnished teak saloon runs either side of a fold-down dining table, with striped cushions, a monogrammed pillow and a genuine forward V-berth cabin through the doorway — not a bare cuddy. We regularly set this table up for a [candlelit dinner](/products/dinner-on-a-yacht): tea lights, a champagne bucket and fairy lights along the deckhead, which is a large part of why couples book Tantallon specifically rather than one of the smaller sailboats. Her open bow and cockpit are also a favourite backdrop for [pre-wedding and couple photoshoots](/products/wedding-photoshoot-on-a-yacht) — the wide teak deck and tall rig give a photographer plenty to work with.

She is a sailing yacht rather than a motor yacht, which means the ride is quieter and depends more on the wind than an engine — an auxiliary outboard covers the still days.
