There is more than one place to board a yacht in Mumbai, and which one makes sense depends entirely on where you are coming from and what kind of day you want. Here is the honest comparison.
Gateway of India, Colaba
The default, and for good reason — the largest fleet operates from here, and it puts you in open harbour water within minutes of boarding. Bandra Bandstand
A smaller but genuinely useful option for anyone based in the western suburbs. Fewer boats operate from here, so book further ahead, and the routes tend to run along the coast rather than out into the open harbour.
Belapur, Navi Mumbai
The most overlooked option, and often the most practical one for Vashi, Kharghar or Panvel. The creek water here is more sheltered than the open sea, which means charters can sometimes run on days when Colaba departures are marginal. Which one to pick
If the skyline view is the point of the trip, Gateway of India wins outright. If you are based in the suburbs and just want an easy evening on the water without the drive into Colaba, Bandra or Belapur will save you more time than the marginally better view costs you.
