Every boat has a licensed capacity, set by its coast guard certificate — but the number that actually determines whether your group size matches the boat is comfort, not the legal maximum.
Why licensed capacity is not the target
A boat licensed for twenty people at that exact number feels genuinely full — no spare deck space, limited seating, a crowded feel by the second hour. Booking to roughly seventy to eighty percent of licensed capacity is where most charters actually feel comfortable.
By group size

- 2–8 guests — smaller boats, ₹11,900–14,000/hr range, plenty of deck space
- 8–16 guests — mid-size boats, most birthday and small corporate bookings
- 16–24 guests — larger boats with a proper sun deck and lounge area
- 24+ guests — flagship boats, best for events with catering and a DJ
Capacity is a hard limit either way
Regardless of comfort preferences, the licensed number cannot be exceeded for any price — a reputable operator will simply say no rather than squeeze in extra guests, and that is a sign they take safety seriously rather than a frustrating rule.
When you are between sizes
If your group sits between two boat sizes, size up rather than down — a slightly larger boat with room to spare is a better booking than a full one, especially for a party where people will be moving around rather than seated the whole time.
