Things to do on a yacht charter in Goa
Beyond the sunset cruise — snorkelling, dolphin spotting, beach-hopping and the routes that actually fill a full day out.

A yacht charter in Goa does not have to mean two hours of drinks on the Mandovi. Book the right boat and the right route, and it turns into an entire day of things to actually do.
Snorkelling at Grande Island
The most popular full-day option. The water off Grande Island is clear enough for reasonable snorkelling, and most charters anchor for an hour or two so guests can swim and use the gear on board. See our Grande Island guide for more on what to expect underwater.
Dolphin watching
Dolphin sightings are genuinely common on the river-mouth and Grande Island routes, especially in the morning. No operator can promise them — they are wild animals — but a morning departure meaningfully improves your odds.
Beach-hopping by boat
Reaching a beach by water rather than road cuts out the traffic and the parking entirely, and several of Goa's better stretches of sand are genuinely easier to reach this way. A half-day charter with two or three stops works well for a group that wants variety over one long anchor.
Water sports
Several boats in the Goa fleet carry jet skis, kayaks or snorkel gear as standard — check what is included before you book if this is the point of the trip rather than an extra.
- Jet skis — available on select boats, usually a supervised session at anchor
- Kayaks — self-paddle around the anchorage
- Snorkelling gear — carried on most island-route boats
Just the sunset
And if none of the above appeals, the plain two-hour Mandovi sunset cruise remains the easiest, most reliable booking in the fleet — sometimes the simple version is the right one.
