About the Taanti

Taanti is a Beneteau First 25.7 sailing yacht for up to 7 guests, departing from the Gateway of India in Colaba and anchoring within sight of the Taj Mahal Palace — a straightforward, well-kept boat that puts the skyline right in your photos without any extra effort.

Below deck there's a cabin for shade and storage, which we regularly decorate for a birthday with balloons and a cake. No sailing experience is needed — a skipper runs the boat throughout, with an auxiliary outboard for the still days.

Boarding is by motorboat transfer from the jetty near the Gateway of India. Pricing is for the whole boat, not per person; message us on WhatsApp with your date, group size and occasion for a firm price and a decoration quote if you'd like one.

Questions

Taanti frequently asked

The things people ask before booking this boat. If yours is not here, message us — a real person answers.

How much does it cost to charter Taanti?

From ₹4,500 for the whole boat on a weekday morning slot, up to ₹5,500 for the 6–8pm sunset departure. Weekends and public holidays run ₹500 higher across all slots.

What is included in the Taanti charter price?

The captain and crew, fuel for the standard route, life jackets for every guest and the on-board sound system. Catering, bar service, decoration, water sports and extra hours are quoted separately and confirmed before you pay anything.

How many guests can the Taanti carry?

Up to 7 guests. This is fixed by the vessel's coast guard licence and cannot be exceeded for any reason, so please give us an accurate head count when you enquire — including children and infants.

Is there a minimum booking duration?

Two hours on weekends and public holidays, one hour midweek. Island and full-day charters are quoted as a package rather than by the hour.

How and where do we board?

Boarding is from the jetty, where a tender runs you out to the yacht at anchor — usually about ten minutes. The exact jetty and reporting time are confirmed on your booking sheet the day before.

What happens if the weather is bad on our date?

If the coast guard suspends sailing or the captain judges conditions unsafe, we reschedule your charter to another date at no cost. That call is made on safety grounds, never commercial ones.

Can we bring our own food, cake and decorations?

Outside food and a cake are generally fine, and we will confirm for this specific boat. Alcohol rules vary by vessel and by the permits in force on the day, so check with us before buying anything.

How far in advance should we book?

Weekday charters can often be arranged within the same week. Weekend slots, sunset departures and anything in December need two to three weeks' notice.

Will we get views of the Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Palace?

Yes — Taanti anchors within view of both, which is one of her most requested features for photos.
