Water sports you can do on a yacht charter

Jet skis, kayaks, snorkelling and more — what is actually available, and how to make sure it is included before you book.

Not every boat carries water sports gear, and it is one of the most common things guests assume is included when it is actually an add-on — worth confirming before you book if this is the point of your trip.

Jet skis

Carried as standard on a handful of boats in the fleet, usually run as a supervised session while the yacht is at anchor rather than a free-for-all. Confirm age and licensing requirements for anyone wanting to drive rather than ride.

Kayaks

A lower-key option, self-paddled around the anchorage, and generally available on more boats than jet skis since they need no fuel or supervision beyond basic safety.

Snorkelling

Best suited to Goa's Grande Island route and similarly clear-water anchorages — Mumbai harbour water is not clear enough to make snorkelling worthwhile. Gear is usually carried on island-route boats as standard.

Windsurfing

Available on a smaller number of boats, and genuinely useful only if someone in the group already knows how to windsurf — it is not something most charters teach on the day.

Checking before you book

Ask specifically which water sports are included at no extra cost versus quoted separately, and whether a swim stop is built into the route or needs to be requested. See our fleet page for boats that list water toys as standard.
