Every first-time buyer asks this eventually: new or used? In the Indian market the honest answer usually favours used, but it is worth understanding exactly why before you decide it does not apply to you.
The case for used
A pre-owned boat already registered and imported into India removes the two biggest sources of cost and delay — import duty exposure and customs paperwork. You can also see exactly what you are getting, survey it properly, and negotiate against real condition rather than a brochure.
The case for new
Buying new or importing gives you far more choice for the money, a boat with no hidden maintenance history, and full manufacturer warranty. The trade-off is a landed cost that includes duty and freight on top of the purchase price, and a timeline measured in months rather than weeks.

How to decide
