Bachelorette and birthday parties on a yacht
How to plan a group celebration on the water — music, catering, decoration and getting the timing right.

A birthday or bachelorette on a yacht turns a fairly standard celebration into something people actually remember — the setting does most of the work, but a few planning details make the day run better.
Picking the length
Two hours works for a straightforward celebration with drinks and music. Three to four hours gives room for catering, cake and photos without feeling rushed. A full-day charter suits a bigger group who want swimming and water sports built in as well.
Music and sound
Most boats carry a Bluetooth sound system as standard — confirm this before assuming you can just plug in a playlist. For a bigger event, a dedicated DJ can usually be arranged as an add-on.
Decoration and cake
Balloon or floral decoration, a custom cake and a bar setup are the most requested add-ons, and all need roughly 48 hours' notice to arrange properly. Confirm exactly what is included and what costs extra before you pay a deposit.
Keeping a surprise
If it is a surprise birthday, brief the crew in advance — they can help manage boarding so the guest of honour does not see decorations set up before the reveal moment.
